Covid safety
PLEASE NOTE: Attendance at our event is entirely at your own risk. Esquina Porteña Tango and its hosts accept no responsibility for anyone contracting Covid 19 as a result of attending our event.
We have now relaxed some of the Covid safety measures we originally put in place but please be aware that it may be necessary to step these up again at some point (possibly at quite short notice) if cases start to rise again. So do please keep checking the website and Facebook page for the most up to date information.
In line with many other organisers, and as a result of the end of free testing, it is no longer a requirement to bring evidence of a negative LFT in order to attend the milonga. However, we would encourage people to continue testing on the day of the milonga if you can get access to an LFT kit, and also ask that you don't attend if you are experiencing any of covid symptoms listed on the NHS website.https://www.nhs.uk/.../coronaviru.../symptoms/main-symptoms/
Whilst it isn't complusory to bring evidence of a NEG LFT, we will offer an additional reward stamp and a wristband (to reassure other dancers of negative status) to anyone who brings a dated before and after photo of an LFT test taken on the day on their phone or evidence of having a negative result with the NHS on the day (whilst this facility still exists)
We do currently still have some spare tests which will be freely available for anyone who wishes to take a free test on arrival at the milonga and will offer wristbands to those who choose do so, once a negative result is returned.
We will continue to offer the option for you to leave contact details in case you wish us to contact you directly in the event of a positive case linked to the event.
OTHER MEASURES AND ADVICE - These will remain in place.
• We advise double-checking our event page before travelling just in case of any last-minute changes.
• Please use the hand sanitisers provided at regular intervals, particularly between dance partners, on entry to the venue, and before consuming food/helping yourselves to the light refreshments which are available.
• The wearing of face masks is voluntary. However, we would ask that you respect others who choose to do so and consider doing likewise if you do wish to dance with them. We will continue to have some disposable face masks on the front desk which will be freely available just in case.
• We will endeavour to keep the venue ventilated by keeping the main doors open. If it gets too chilly we will put some heating on but would recommend bringing something warm to pop on when not dancing just in case and choose your seat wisely.
• We ask that people bear in mind that there may be people who may prefer to dance just with one partner or in a social bubble. Observance of the mirada/cabaceo (something we have always encouraged anyway) is a simple and effective way in which we can all respect each others’ preferences.
• Obviously, we ask you to contact us in case of a positive test following the event so we can alert others. Please rest assured that your name and details will be kept confidential from other attendees unless you advise us otherwise.
